Spicy Turkey Beef Tacos

This week’s craving is all about the tacos! I wanted to put together a quick ground meat recipe that takes little time to make, and is poppin with flavor! This. is. it! You can add this meat to corn, flour, or mixed tortillas. You can even make a Mexican salad if that’s what your feeling. Top with cheddar cheese, lettuce, avocado, onion, salsa, and a little low fat plain yogurt on top in replacement for sour cream. This has been a staple for years and even more for meal prep. Hope you enjoy!
Ingredients:
• 1/2 lb ground turkey (93/7)
• 1/2 lb ground beef (93/7)
• 1/2 small onion diced and chopped
• 3-4 garlic cloves, minced
• 1 tablespoon Chili Powder
• 1/2 teaspoon Salt
• 3/4 teaspoon Cumin
• 1/2 teaspoon Dried Oregano
• 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
• 1/4 teaspoon Onion Powder
• 1/2 cup tomato sauce
• 1 Tbsp olive oil
Toppings optional:
• Avocado or guacamole
• Cheddar cheese shredded
• Pico de gallo
• Shredded lettuce
Instructions:
1. On medium to high heat, place oil in pan and add in onions and garlic cloves.
Cook for 2 minutes.
2. Cook the ground turkey and beef.
3. Add 1/2 cup tomato sauce and mixed taco seasonings above.
4. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes or until almost all liquid is absorbed.
5. Add to tortillas or shells and top with cilantro, pico, greek yogurt and/or cheese!
