Sweet n' Spicy Watermelon Margarita
Happy National Marg day!! These margaritas are beyond delicious and are my go to when throwing a fun event or party! They are festive, fun and taste just like summer :) The key here is using tajin as the rim for the margs, it gives them a smokey spice while the watermelon gives the touch of sweetness. I would recommend serving this drink over ice and not blended as the watermelon pulp will build up if you try to blend it. Serve it with a watermelon or jalapeno garnish and enjoy!!
¼ cup Silver Tequila
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice (about 1 small lime)
¼ cup fresh watermelon juice*
2-4 jalapeño slices, depending on how spicy you like it.
1 teaspoon agave nectar
Ice, for shaking
Coarsely ground sea salt OR tajin for spice
1. Add tajin (or salt if your prefer) to a small plate. Use a lime wedge to the rim the glass and dip the top of the glass in the tajin or salt. Roll the glass until fully covered!
2. Fill a shaker with lots of ice, add the tequila (maybe a little extra ;), lime juice, watermelon juice, jalapeno slices, and agave nectar. Put on the lid and shake for about a minute- dont forget to do a little dance!!
3. Strain the drink into a glass and garnish with a fresh watermelon wedge, lime. Add some extra jalepeno for more spice if desired! (I like to add 1 or two more slices.) Cheers and enjoy!
